Infusion pumps are widely used in clinical settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and at home. Infusion pumps are typically operated by skilled users who program the rate and duration of fluid delivery using a built-in software interface. Infusion pumps provide several advantages over manual fluid administration, including the capacity to give fluids in extremely small amounts and at precisely programmed rates or automatic intervals. They can carry nutrition or pharmaceuticals like insulin or other hormones, antibiotics, chemotherapeutic treatments, and pain relievers.

With the growing prevalence of smartphones and other smart personal devices worldwide, including in underserved and distant areas, there is a growing use of these devices for the gathering, sharing, and even analysis of health status data.

 The nursing information system (NIS), which aids in improving care, enhancing communications, and optimizing performance, strongly advocates the use of technology in the healthcare industry. As a student nurse studying Nursing Informatics, I came to understand how these systems not only store data but also inform the treatment process through real-time data processing and analysis.  It is essential to have ongoing training and support to help healthcare staff use nursing information systems. This strategy lets nurses and other medical experts develop the needed skills to manage these systems and stay updated with new technologies and rules. Handling problems like system efficiency, data security, and the pressure associated with these tools becomes easier. This leads to better recording of patient information improved team communication, improved health results, and higher patient satisfaction.
